Thomas “Tom” Rutherford
The arrival of spring this year was a difficult and sad one at Advanced Tree Technology. We mourn the passing of our dear friend and long-time employee Tom Rutherford. He was our first full-time employee and was with us for 22 years. Tom worked mostly during apple season but also during spring tree shipping in later years. We are sure many of you remember him for his quick smile and kind words. He was well-known for his great jokes and stories.
He was known even more for his beautiful voice in his church choir, St. James Lutheran Church in New Haven. Tom also was a 42-year member of the New Haven Lions Club and a volunteer both at the St. James Food Pantry and First Baptist Bread Ministry. He was an Army veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, LuAnn; daughters Beth, Lora and Amy; sons-in-laws and several grandchildren.
Tom was a humble servant of the Lord and a good friend. He will be missed. God Bless You Tom Rutherford.
